What is Theme Explorer?

Say goodbye to manual coding and discover the themes that matter most to your customers. Theme Explorer, Voxpopme's advanced thematic analysis tool, instantly identifies the keywords and phrases from your video project. Through advanced thematic analysis, your video responses are instantly auto-coded to identify the most important themes, taking you straight to the video snippets where respondents mention the theme you’d like to explore. Now you can spend less time searching for answers and more time demonstrating results.

How to get there

From the Responses view, select the Responses drop-down. Select the second option in the drop-down, Theme Explorer. 

Getting started with Theme Explorer

Theme Explorer will load the most prominent themes automatically identified within your project. The themes displayed will update based on any filters you've set. Each theme will display the count of responses and count of sentences that mention the theme. There is a sentiment chart on each theme, this displays the sentiment breakdown for that theme, allowing you to quickly identify where respondents are speaking majoritively positively or negatively.

Most Mentions Vs Top Picks

Use the Top Picks radio button to re-rank the themes. Top Picks will rank the themes identified in the project by their importance to the project. This will look to reveal the keywords or phrases within the project you're viewing that are unique to the project.

Viewing a Theme

Click on a theme to view all the video clips within the project where the theme has been mentioned. If you'd prefer to view the video clips for more than one theme at the same time, click "Select Multiple". This will allow you to click on as many themes as you wish, then hit View. 

Whether you've selected one theme or multiple, you will be directed to view all of the video clips where the theme has been mentioned. Next to each video response, the system will display all of the sentences where the theme has been mentioned for the response. 

By clicking on the video or the text, the video clip will play where the respondent has mentioned the theme identified. 

Using the green plus icon next to text snippets, you can add the video clip to a showreel (previously Lists).
