Introduction: This guide provides a straightforward tutorial on importing text-only responses to open-ended questions. This enables you to use the power of automated analysis on text-only responses in Voxpopme so you can get to insights faster - no matter the feedback type.
Watch the short video tutorial for a visual explanation or read our step-by-step guide below.
Step 1: Prepare Your Spreadsheet
-
Open Your Spreadsheet: Begin by opening the spreadsheet containing your transcript data. This file should contain the text responses you wish to analyze in Voxpopme.
-
Check for Special Characters or Symbols: Ensure your document is free from any special characters or symbols that could interfere with the import process. Special characters might include anything outside the standard alphanumeric range (A-Z, 0-9) and common punctuation marks.
Step 2: Format Your Spreadsheet
-
Ensure Proper Formatting: Your spreadsheet should be formatted according to Voxpopme's requirements. Typically, this means having specific columns for respondent IDs, response texts, and any other relevant metadata.
-
Insert a text-only column: For Voxpopme to identify that this is a text-only project; you'll need to add a column titled 'TextOnly' and populate each cell in that column with the data '1'. This lets Voxpopme know that we're importing text-only responses without any audio or video files.
-
Download your spreadsheet.
Step 3: Import Your Data into Voxpopme
-
Access the Import Feature: Log in to your Voxpopme account and select create project from your dashboard
-
Select the 'import video' project from our library of templates - this is the starting point for all import projects, regardless of media type.
-
Select Bulk Importer and create a project name that's easily recognisable in your account.
-
If your sheet contains more than 1000 rows, please select the 3-dot menu and update your project (see how to do this in the video above).
-
Upload Your File: Select import media files and import text files to upload your dat
-
Map Data Fields: Check your column names are mapped and make any name adjustments if you'd like the data too have a different name in Voxpopme.
-
Ensure one of your fields data types is set to 'transcript'
Step 4: Review and Confirm
-
Complete the Import: Hit submit to finalize the process and wait for Voxpopme to process the uploaded data.
Conclusion
This simplified guide should help you prepare and import your transcript data into Voxpopme for analysis. Remember, ensuring your data is clean and correctly formatted before import can significantly streamline the process and improve your analysis outcomes.
